In 2024, individuals who are looking to purchase a car for the first time will have the option to do so through Amazon, as announced by the online retailer and Hyundai Motor Co. on Thursday.
Car dealerships can now directly sell vehicles from a Korean company on Amazon’s website. Currently, customers can select a car from various manufacturers on Amazon, but cannot complete the purchase. Those who purchase a Hyundai on Amazon can choose to collect it from a nearby dealership or have it delivered.
Amazon and Hyundai announced in a blog post that this innovative shopping experience will provide dealers with an additional method to promote their range of products and enhance convenience for their patrons.
This has led to dealerships in multiple states filing lawsuits against the company.
Besides online showrooms, Amazon’s platform currently provides a wide range of automotive components and related items, such as tires.
