The initial three debates have had little effect on former President Donald Trump’s advantage in the polls, providing him with minimal motivation to take part. They have also been lacking the same intensity that Trump brought to the primary debates in 2016, although there have been some.

Who will be participating in the Republican debate tonight?
On Monday, the Republican National Committee stated that four candidates have met the requirements to participate in the debate.
Candidates were required to meet certain criteria in order to remain eligible for the upcoming election. These included receiving a minimum of 6% in two national polls or 6% in one national poll and 6% in two polls from different early states. They also needed to have at least 80,000 unique donors, with a minimum of 200 donors from 20 different states or territories. The deadline for meeting these requirements was Monday night.

On Monday, it was announced that the former Governor of Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson, who is still in the race, did not meet the criteria to participate in the upcoming debate. This comes after he and two other candidates failed to qualify for the last debate.

Donald Trump, who previously held the position of President, has announced that he will not participate in the upcoming debate. This decision comes after he did not attend any of the last three debates, citing his lead in the polls as the reason.
This time around, Trump will not host a public event to coincide with the debate. Instead, he will be hosting a private fundraising event in Florida for his campaign.
