BOSTON – One night after Andrea Bocelli
The Boston concert was cancelled by him.
In Philadelphia on Thursday, a situation similar to the one at TD Garden occurred, with fans already seated. The Italian singer has released a statement regarding the “health challenges” impacting his renowned singing voice.
Bocelli made a similar announcement to the audience in Philadelphia as he did in Boston, informing ticket holders that he would not be able to sing. However, he did provide musical accompaniment on the keyboard for his 11-year-old daughter’s performance, as reported by attendees on social media.
Although some fans sent him good wishes, others expressed frustration with the late cancellation, which event organizers promise will be rescheduled for a future date.
The Facebook page stated that the event will be rescheduled for a later date, but the cancellation has resulted in a significant financial loss for the hotel and travel expenses.
Andrea Bocelli statement on health challenges for his voice
In Boston, the 65-year-old Bocelli
The singer, Bocelli, informed the crowd that despite his efforts, he was unable to sing tonight. In a subsequent statement, he elaborated on the situation, mentioning that this is a rare occurrence for him. With over 80 million albums sold, Bocelli is an accomplished artist.
I have been blessed with the gift of voice, an instrument that has been entrusted to me. It has always been my duty, and a great honor and privilege, to share my voice with those who are willing to listen. As long as I am able, I will continue to travel and sing. During my tours, I treat my voice with the same discipline as an athlete, recognizing the privilege and responsibility that comes with it. I have utmost respect for my audience, as well as the many individuals and professionals who contribute to bringing a concert to life.
Occasionally, an unforeseen issue arises that forces you to pause. This occurrence is rare, as in my thirty years of being a concert performer, I can only recall a few instances. However, this time, it happened and I had no choice but to acknowledge it.
I apologize sincerely to everyone who has generously given me their time and resources to listen to me.
In this situation, everything is ultimately controlled by a higher power and all I can do, today and every day, is look up to the sky and express gratitude and prayer, saying “Thy will be done”. I eagerly anticipate reuniting with my dear American friends in the near future.
