Ruby Franke, a popular YouTuber, is anticipated to reach a plea deal on Monday, according to her attorney. She is facing charges and will be entering a plea.

Franke, who is 41 years old, is scheduled to appear in court at 11 a.m. in Washington County, Utah. The statement released by Winward Law, the legal representation for Franke, did not provide further information about the terms of the agreement.

The firm stated that our client is in collaboration with the prosecutor’s office and is expecting to reach a swift resolution by entering into a plea agreement with the court on Monday, December 18th.

Authorities reported that a malnourished child ran to a nearby residence and requested food and water. They also confirmed the arrest and child abuse charges against Jodi Hildebrandt, 54, who is a business partner of Franke. and charged with grand theft

The authorities arrested and accused both females of committing grand theft.

The individuals are currently detained without bail at the residence of Hildebrandt in Ivins, Utah.

Winward Law claims that Hildebrandt misled Franke.

The company stated that Ms. Hildebrandt intentionally kept Ruby Franke away from her extended family, older children, and husband, Kevin Franke, for a significant amount of time. This prolonged separation ultimately led to Ms. Franke adopting a distorted moral code influenced by Ms. Hildebrandt.

Douglas Terry, the lawyer representing Jodi Hildebrandt, refused to provide a statement regarding the claims made by Winward Law.

The prosecution claims that Franke and Hildebrandt were responsible for either inflicting or permitting the torture of Franke’s 12-year-old son and the injury of her 10-year-old daughter. According to prosecutors, both children were deprived of food and suffered emotional harm.

As stated in a sworn statement from a Santa Clara-Ivins Public Safety Department officer, on August 30, Franke’s 12-year-old child exited a window of Hildebrandt’s home in Ivins and went to a nearby neighbor’s house to request sustenance and hydration.

According to the affidavit, the neighbor reported seeing duct tape on the boy’s wrists and ankles and immediately alerted the police. The boy was then transported to a hospital where he was placed on a medical hold because of severe cuts caused by being restrained with rope and his poor state of health. Records of the arrest confirm this information.

According to a search warrant filed on that day, the boy informed officers that “Jodi” tied ropes around his wrists and ankles and applied a mixture of cayenne pepper and honey to the injuries caused by the ropes.

Although cayenne pepper has been traditionally used for its medicinal properties, Mount Sinai advises against applying it to cracked skin or open wounds.

Officers stated that Franke’s daughter was discovered in a malnourished state at Hildebrandt’s residence and was subsequently transported to the hospital.

Child protective services took custody of Franke’s children, along with two others.

Unfortunately, Franke’s popular YouTube channel, “8 Passengers,” which featured her family of eight, had over 2 million subscribers. However, it was removed from the platform after Franke and Hildebrandt were arrested.

Hildebrandt is the proprietor of a counseling enterprise known as ConneXions. According to the company’s website, Franke is responsible for creating materials for social media and podcasts. However, videos on ConneXions’ YouTube channel, featuring Hildebrandt and Franke, were taken down following charges against the two women.

The Franke family received backlash for their choices in raising their children, such as prohibiting their eldest son from using his bedroom for seven months as a consequence for playing a prank on his younger brother. In a video, Ruby Franke discussed her decision not to bring lunch to a kindergartener who had forgotten it at home. Another video depicted her making threats to decapitate a young girl’s stuffed animal as punishment for cutting items in the house.

Kevin Franke has recently initiated divorce proceedings. According to a statement from Winward Law, Ruby Franke is deeply saddened by this development and recognizes and comprehends his feelings of anger and justification.

The company stated that even though she is experiencing pain, she still has respect for his choices. She remains optimistic that eventually, she can aid in restoring trust and promoting understanding within their household. Ruby has expressed her willingness to assist in reuniting the children with their father.

Sherri Franke, the eldest daughter of the Franke family, announced on social media that she has severed ties with her parents.

In 2022, Sherri Franke of Springville, Utah contacted the police to report that her siblings had been left unattended at home for several days. Despite speaking with neighbors, the police were unable to reach the children. As a result, a report was filed with Child and Family Services.

According to records, officers visited the house on four additional occasions between Sept. 22 and Oct. 3.
