Officials report that a shelling incident in the city of Belgorod, Russia has resulted in the deaths of 14 people, including 2 children.
According to Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry, 14 individuals, including two children, were killed and 108 others were injured on Saturday in the shelling that occurred in the heart of Belgorod, a city located on the Russian border.
Russian authorities alleged that Kyiv was responsible for the attack, which occurred the day after a 18-hour bombing campaign in Ukraine resulted in the deaths of at least 39 innocent individuals.
Social media posts featuring Belgorod showed cars on fire and thick dark smoke rising from damaged buildings. Air raid sirens were heard as a result of the strike. One of the attacks occurred near a public ice rink in the central area of the city, which is located 25 miles (40km) north of Ukraine’s border and 415 miles (670km) south of Moscow. Previous strikes have targeted Belgorod, but they have typically occurred at night and resulted in fewer casualties.
