Wednesday’s bomb attack
Gatherings were held to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the 2020 killing of Iranian military leader Qasem Soleimani, as Iran observed a day of mourning on Thursday. According to Iranian officials, the attack resulted in the deaths of at least 84 individuals.
Khamenei stated that harsh measures will be taken against cruel criminals going forward.
No individual or group has taken immediate responsibility for the assault, which is believed to be the most fatal attack on Iran since the nation’s Islamic Revolution in 1979. The number of casualties was reduced to 84 on Thursday morning by the country’s emergency services, after initially being reported as over 100. The emergency services also reported that more than 280 individuals were injured.
