The Republican presidential candidates are concerned that the Iowa caucuses, taking place on Monday, will experience a dangerous and record-breaking cold front, potentially leading to lower turnout.

The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures will remain below 0 degrees Fahrenheit on Monday evening, potentially reaching as low as -45 F with wind chill. Officials are cautioning that frostbite could happen in just 10 minutes of being outside and as Iowans gather at their caucus locations, some may have to wait in the cold for a long time.

According to Matt Sitkowski, the science editor-in-chief at The Weather Channel, being outside without adequate winter attire can be hazardous.
