Airlines have added flights for the Super Bowl, with references to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Airlines are now offering flights dedicated to Kansas City Chiefs players Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, as well as popular music artist.Taylor Swift after the team advanced to the Super Bowl. The Chiefs will play the San Francisco 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.
American Airlines has included flights from Kansas City to Las Vegas on February 9th and 10th with the flight number 1989. This number is a nod to Swift’s birth year and one of her popular albums. Additionally, they have added a flight from Las Vegas to Kansas City shortly after midnight on February 12th, just a few hours after the main event. The flight number for this route matches Kelce’s jersey number, #87.
According to a statement from an American Airlines representative to CBS News on Monday, there is a high level of enthusiasm for this year’s sports events. They stated that the recent games have solidified football’s popularity and they are excited to offer non-stop flights from Kansas City to Las Vegas. The airline also expressed gratitude to their customers who are passionate about sports for driving this decision.

The airline is offering a flight to Las Vegas on the morning of the big game, numbered 1521, as a tribute to Mahomes’ and Chiefs safety Mike Edwards’ jersey numbers. Two flights are also available for the return trip to Kansas City, both numbered 15 in honor of Mahomes.
