The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee issued a vague caution about a potential “significant threat to national security,” leading officials to advise remaining calm.

The leader of the House Intelligence Committee revealed on Wednesday that members of Congress were given knowledge about a concerning “serious threat to national security.” This unclear alarm led other lawmakers to downplay the gravity of the matter and advise the public to stay composed.

Rep. Mike Turner, the Republican chairman of the House Intelligence panel from Ohio, made a statement through the committee urging President Biden to declassify all relevant information about a national security threat. The statement was brief and vague, simply stating that the committee has shared this information with all members of Congress.

Turner stated that they are asking President Biden to make all information regarding this danger available, in order for Congress, the Administration, and our allies to openly deliberate the necessary measures to address it.
