The verdict has been announced that she is responsible for unintentional homicide. She was cleared of the allegation of tampering with evidence.

Souza, who was also harmed in the event, gave a heartfelt testimony during Gutierrez-Reed’s court case.

Gutierrez-Reed faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine for the charge of involuntary manslaughter. She will be sentenced at a later date. Guttierrez-Reed was taken into custody after the verdicts were read.  

Unfortunately, Gutierrez-Reed had no control over the issues involving the set, and the primary supplier of ammunition had not undergone a thorough investigation.

He explained that for “Rust” he had only supplied mock bullets, but clarified that he had also been handling actual bullet rounds for another project concurrently.

Gutierrez-Reed gave Baldwin the revolver twice. During the first instance, there was no ammunition in the gun. However, during the second time, the gun was loaded with both fake rounds and a live bullet. Halls, who previously admitted guilt for irresponsible use of a firearm and served six months of unsupervised parole, stated that he and Gutierrez-Reed conducted a basic safety check before passing the gun to Baldwin a second time.

Halls’ statement contradicted previous statements made about the shooting incident. Gutierrez-Reed did not testify during the investigation, however, she informed authorities that she had given the gun to Halls and left the filming location. Baldwin initially reported that the gun was handed to him by Gutierrez-Reed, but later changed his statement to say that Halls was the one who gave him the weapon.

She has released a statement through her legal representatives, stating that she had conducted a thorough safety inspection of the firearm before passing it on to Hall.

Gutierrez-Reed’s statement conveyed surprise at the unexpected introduction of live rounds on the set.

In a statement to the press, a member of the jury stated that the primary factor in their decision to find Gutierrez-Reed guilty was his failure to inspect the weapons.

According to Albert Sanchez, there is a problem if you have live rounds and are unaware or not checking them. He made this statement outside the courthouse.

According to Baldwin, he cocked the gun but did not fire. Gutierrez-Reed instructed the actors to avoid aiming guns at others while on set.

The second accusation of tampering with evidence comes from claims stating that Gutierrez-Reed allegedly gave a small bag, potentially containing narcotics, to a crew member on the movie set in an effort to hide it after the shooting. This information was reported by the Associated Press.
