George Santos, a former representative from New York, revealed on Thursday evening that he intends to once again seek a seat in Congress.
Santos recently shared on X that he intends to run against Rep. Nick LaLota in New York’s First Congressional District, encompassing the eastern region of Long Island.
“I am eager to engage in a discussion with him regarding the matters at hand and his lackluster track record as a member of the Republican party. It is crucial that we fight to maintain our majority in order to ensure the survival of our nation,” he stated.
LaLota responded in a statement, saying, “To raise the standard in Congress, and to hold a pathological liar who stole an election accountable, I led the charge to expel George Santos. If finishing the job requires beating him in a primary, count me in.”
