Biden says he would sign TikTok bill that could ban app

Authorize the passing of laws that may result in prohibiting TikTok usage.

TikTok, a well-known video-sharing platform, is currently operated by ByteDance, a company based in China.

The proposed legislation, called the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, mandates that if ByteDance does not sever ties, they must divest from TikTok within six months, or face restrictions from American app stores and web hosting services.

On Friday, there was a new announcement regarding the possibility of a TikTok ban being voted on by the U.S. House of Representatives. This could result in the removal of your content, your freedom of expression, and your source of income.

A recent Pew Research Center survey revealed that TikTok has experienced faster growth among users compared to other social media platforms in recent years. The study found that approximately one-third of American adults use the app, although other platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram remain more popular.
