“Unusual last-minute cancellation of a launch.”
On Saturday, a Russian Soyuz spacecraft launched on its way to the International Space Station. It has two crew members who will stay for a short period of time, as well as a NASA astronaut who will stay for six months.
The spacecraft Soyuz MS-25/71S, piloted by Oleg Novitskiy, with guest cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya from Belarus and NASA veteran Tracy Dyson, launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome at 8:36 a.m. EDT (5:36 p.m. local time). It successfully entered into orbit after 8 minutes and 45 seconds.
The planned launch for last Thursday was aborted within 20 seconds due to low voltage readings detected in the first stage electrical system of the Soyuz 2.1a rocket.
