Beyoncé has achieved the historic feat of being the first Black woman to reach the top of the country charts with her song “Texas Hold ‘Em”.
On Wednesday, Beyoncé made history as the first Black woman to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs with her debut single “Texas Hold ‘Em”.
“Texas Hold ‘Em” is a cheerful tribute to the singer’s home state and is the first track from her upcoming eighth studio album.

Growing up in Texas, we have always embraced Cowboy Culture. Tina Knowles, mother of Beyoncé, shared a montage on Instagram showing Beyoncé wearing cowboy hats over the years. This was in response to accusations that the singer had suddenly switched genres or exploited a particular style.
Tina Knowles commented that she and her daughters, Beyoncé and Solange, were aware that cowboy culture in Texas is not limited to just White individuals. She shared that they regularly attended rodeos and embraced Western fashion, as it was an integral part of their upbringing.
