Derek Hough shared that his spouse, Hayley Erbert, underwent emergency surgery on her brain due to a ruptured blood vessel.
In a post on Instagram on Thursday, Derek Hough shared that his wife Hayley Erbert had to have emergency surgery on her brain for a cranial hematoma.
Hough stated that Erbert was hospitalized in Washington, D.C. after becoming disoriented following their Wednesday night performance for the Symphony of Dance tour.
The professional dancer and “Dancing With the Stars” judge announced that she was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma caused by a ruptured blood vessel, and needed to undergo an emergency craniectomy. However, she is currently in stable condition.
The woman stated that she was involved in a car crash in the mountains and suffered minor injuries, including a swollen face and four stitches above her eyebrow.
“After experiencing an injury in 2022, Erbert expressed their hope for 2023 to be a year focused on health and strength, free from any further injuries.”
On Thursday, Xochitl Gomez, the recent winner of “Dancing With the Stars,” sent good wishes to Erbert.
“I am sending all of my positive energy and good thoughts directly to Hayley,” Gomez wrote in a comment on Instagram. “She is a beacon of light.”
Hough and Erbert tied the knot in late August and began their joint tour approximately one month later.
