Former Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider responds to “Quiet on Set” accusations

Movie and TV show producer, Dan Schneider, who used to work for Nickelodeon, has responded to recent allegations of misconduct and mistreatment in the documentary series “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.”

Schneider, who was behind popular children’s shows such as “The Amanda Show,” “Victorious” and “Drake and Josh,” responded to some of the allegations in an interview on his YouTube page with “iCarly” actor BooG!e. He said it was “very difficult” to watch all four episodes of the Investigation Discovery special, which aired Sunday and Monday night.

“Acknowledging past mistakes and regretting certain behaviors,” he stated, “I feel a strong sense of responsibility to apologize to those who were affected.”

Schneider has received backlash for including inappropriate humor in his children’s shows, and has stated that he would be willing to remove these jokes if they are deemed offensive by viewers.

During the live stream on YouTube following Schneider’s interview, it was observed that he appeared calm and did not show any signs of crying. While everyone has their own ways of handling emotions, Dan seemed to be lacking in emotional response, as expressed by the comment made.

According to a representative from Nickelodeon who spoke to CBS News, in regards to reported incidents on previous TV sets, they are unable to confirm or deny the allegations due to the passage of time.

“Our company, Nickelodeon, is dedicated to creating a safe and professional work environment that is free from all forms of harassment and inappropriate behavior. As part of this commitment, we thoroughly look into all formal complaints that are brought to our attention. Our utmost priorities are the well-being and best interests of not only our employees, casts, and crew, but also of all children. Throughout the years, we have implemented various measures to ensure that we uphold our own high standards and meet the expectations of our audience.”

Nickelodeon and CBS News are both owned by Paramount Global.
