Michael Deas is a well-known artist who may not be as familiar to you, but his paintings can be purchased for very little money. This artist from New Orleans has created over 25 postage stamps featuring famous figures such as Marilyn Monroe, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and playwright Tennessee Williams. In an interview with correspondent Conor Knighton, Deas discussed his experience painting portraits for the U.S. Postal Service, designing covers for Time magazine, and revamping the iconic female figure holding a torch that introduces films from Columbia Pictures.
