According to Variety, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs is venturing into the film industry as an executive producer for the upcoming independent movie, “My Dead Friend Zoe.” The film is scheduled to debut at the South by Southwest film festival in Austin, Texas in the following month.

The movie was portrayed as a “low-cost dark comedy” featuring Sonequa Martin-Green, Natalie Morales, Ed Harris, and Morgan Freeman. It was made with a budget of under $10 million. There was no immediate response from Kelce’s representatives when asked for comment.

According to their website, Radiant Media Studios is involved in the production of “My Dead Friend Zoe” and aims to support carbon negative media projects by combining investments in renewable energy development with investments in environmentally-friendly media professionals.

The concept is for investors to utilize credits to mitigate the uncertainty of investing in independent films, which are known for their high risk.

According to Variety, Kelce’s collaborators on the film are Mike Field, an entrepreneur in the green energy industry, and Ray Maiello, a producer at Radiant Media Studios. The film was financed by Field through the sale of excess tax credits, as reported.
