Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has a plan to bring numerous migrants to our city in order to overwhelm our shelter system and transfer expenses to New York City. However, he has agreed to stop the transportation of migrants into and around New York City while the legal case continues. We urge other bus companies involved in this lawsuit to follow suit,” stated Adams on Wednesday.

The court case is focused on 17 transportation companies and is asking for around $708 million. The claim is that these companies have brought at least 33,600 individuals to New York City since spring of 2022 without compensating for their ongoing care.

The companies are accused of acting in “bad faith” by engaging in this behavior.
