According to sources familiar with the plans, President Biden is sending two high-ranking members of his West Wing team to assist with managing his reelection campaign in Delaware.
Mike Donilon, the president’s speechwriter for many years, and Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, who led Mr. Biden’s 2020 campaign, are stepping down from their high-level roles at the White House to focus entirely on the upcoming reelection campaign. The New York Times was the first to report on their transition to the campaign.
The president’s campaign announced that Donilon will have a significant role in the campaign’s messaging and paid media plan, while O’Malley Dillon will concentrate on organizing and executing the campaign’s path to securing 270 electoral votes. Both will report to campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez.
