Manuel Rocha, a previous American Ambassador to Bolivia, is being accused of spying for Cuba for multiple years.
A previous high-ranking American official who most recently held the position of ambassador to Bolivia from the United Stateswas arrested Friday
According to court records, they have been accused of being a Cuban foreign agent and are facing charges.
Starting in 1981 and continuing until now, Victor Manuel Rocha, a U.S. citizen who was born in Cuba and currently resides in Miami, is accused of spying for Cuba’s intelligence agency. Prosecutors claim that he referred to the U.S. as “the enemy” and aided Cuba’s covert intelligence operations.
The indictment does not specify the details of the information that prosecutors claim Rocha shared with the Cubans while he was allegedly working with them for several decades. However, the charging documents reveal a continuous relationship he had with Cuban handlers.
