Minnesota Representative Angie Craig is calling for the perpetrator to be held accountable before his sentencing.
Rep. Angie Craig, Democrat of Minnesota, has asked a federal judge to impose punishment that holds “accountable” the man who admits he assaulted her in the elevator of her Washington, D.C., apartment complex in February.
Kendrid Hamlin, an individual with a history of past arrests, has been accused of physically assaulting and trapping Craig, resulting in injury. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday.
Craig wrote in her victim-impact statement, which was submitted before the hearing, that the attack left a lasting impact on her family. She also expressed that her family members are still worried about her safety.
