SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota confirmed Friday he is laying off a large number of his campaign staff amid his 2024 presidential run.

Phillips posted a video on social media on Friday night explaining the layoffs, but did not mention withdrawing from the race.

“I regret to say that I faced significant challenges in securing the necessary funds to execute this campaign according to my vision,” stated Phillips. “Unfortunately, I was forced to make the difficult decision of letting go of many of my team members.”
