An investigation has been launched into the death of a 4-year-old boy, whose remains were found in his mother’s luggage upon her return from a trip. Suchana Seth, the CEO of The Mindful AI Lab located in Bengaluru, India’s technology center in the south, was taken into custody in Karnataka on Monday after arriving in a taxi from Goa, a neighboring coastal state. Authorities reported that the child’s body had been placed inside a suitcase.
The reason for the suspected killing was not clear, but authorities have stated that during questioning, Seth mentioned a troubled marriage with her estranged husband.
Initially, when questioned, the woman stated that she and her husband had a troubled relationship and that they were currently going through a divorce. She also mentioned that there was a court order that made her very upset, but the order has not been seen by authorities. The woman claimed that she was separated from her husband. Superintendent of Police Nidhin Valsan stated on Monday to reporters that all of this information will need to be verified.

According to reports, 39-year-old Seth stayed at a serviced apartment in Goa’s Hotel Sol Banyan Grande over the weekend with her son. She departed on Monday morning and requested the hotel staff to arrange transportation back to Bengaluru, which is approximately 350 miles away.
According to her LinkedIn profile, she is an expert in AI ethics and a data scientist with more than 12 years of experience in leading and expanding data science teams, as well as implementing machine learning solutions at both startups and industry research labs.
