In legal documents filed on Friday, it has been alleged that bringing charges against the president’s son is a biased and retaliatory political move.

Weiss’ team refuted allegations that the charges were motivated by political agendas and were pushed to appease the Republican party, dismissing these claims as “conspiracy theories” and “unfounded.”

Prosecutors stated in court documents that ex-President Trump is no longer the current President of the United States. They pointed out that the defendant has not provided any explanation as to how President Biden, the Attorney General, the Special Counsel, or his team of prosecutors are working under the guidance of former President Trump or the Republican Party in Congress.

The ongoing investigation into President Biden’s potential impeachment has placed significant attention on Hunter Biden’s financial activities and allegations of interference by high-ranking members of the administration to hinder criminal investigations involving the president’s son.

During a private testimony in February, Hunter Biden rejected the investigation as a “groundless and harmful political show” and argued that his father had no part in his business transactions.

Chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, Rep. James Comer, extended an invitation for Hunter Biden to testify publicly in March.
