The United States has imposed numerous sanctions on Russia in response to the death of Alexey Navalny and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The Biden administration has declared over 600 sanctions and penalties against Russia and its military industry on Friday, marking the biggest set of sanctions since 2018.Russia invaded Ukraine two years ago — as it tries to exert more pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin over the invasion and the sudden death a week ago of Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny.
On Friday, the State Department imposed sanctions on three Russian officials who were allegedly involved in the death of Navalny. The State and Treasury Departments also placed sanctions on 500 entities believed to be connected to Russia’s involvement in the war. Additionally, 90 more companies were included on the Commerce Department’s “entity list,” which limits their ability to conduct business in the United States.
