Additional areas in the city of Port-au-Prince, Haiti are succumbing to criminal activity by gangs. Despite the dangerous circumstances, a helicopter provided by the U.S. government risked the flight to transport American citizens to the nearby Dominican Republic. Around 1,600 individuals with U.S. passports have requested assistance, but due to limitations, only around 30 can be saved each day through this means.
