According to the police in Grenada, two American individuals are presumed to have died after the occupants of a yacht they were on were apparently taken over by escapees.
Three inmates who escaped in Grenada may have taken a yacht and fatally harmed two individuals on board who are believed to be US citizens, as reported by the Royal Grenada Police Force on Thursday. The men fled custody on Sunday and authorities suspect they traveled to nearby St. Vincent on a stolen boat, according to a press release shared on Facebook by the force.
Three individuals, Ron Mitchell (30), Trevon Robertson (19), and Abita Stanislaus (25), were first taken into custody in December for a single charge of violent robbery. Additionally, Mitchell was accused of one count of rape, three counts of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and causing harm.
They were being held at the South St. George Police Station on the small Caribbean island when they escaped. As law enforcement from Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines searched for them, evidence suggested they got on a yacht docked in St. George, officials said.

The Royal Grenada Police Force shared on Facebook that they are investigating leads which indicate that the two individuals on the yacht may have died. It is suspected that the occupants were American nationals.
