The United States and United Kingdom have carried out their fourth set of airstrikes together on Houthi targets in Yemen.

Two American officials have confirmed to CBS News that on Saturday, there were strikes carried out by a joint coalition in Yemen. This marks the fourth round of such strikes.since Jan. 11

The coalition of nations involved in Saturday’s actions, including Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, released a joint statement reporting that 18 Houthi targets were struck in eight different locations in Yemen.
The statement stated that the attacks were aimed at “Houthi facilities used for storing weapons underground, storing missiles, one-way attack drones, air defense systems, radar systems, and a helicopter.”

“This statement was made by Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh on Tuesday, clarifying that while we are not completely eliminating all of the Houthis’ capabilities, each strike we carry out weakens them,” stated the spokesperson for the Pentagon.
Singh stated that the Secretary of Defense is confident that the ongoing efforts will result in the Houthis facing consequences.
The Houthis have connected their assaults to the conflict between Israel and Hamas, vowing to continue targeting vessels supporting Israel’s actions.
American officials state
Many of the ships targeted by the Houthis are not linked to Israel or the Gaza conflict.
The joint statement released on Saturday stated that the Houthis have carried out over 45 attacks on commercial and naval vessels since mid-November. This poses a danger to the global economy and regional security and stability, requiring an international reaction. The coalition of countries involved is dedicated to safeguarding freedom of navigation and international trade, and seeking justice for the Houthis’ unlawful and unjustifiable assaults on commercial and naval ships.
