Brittney Spencer, a singer-songwriter in the country genre, enjoys writing while driving around Nashville. This is where she came up with the chorus for her song “My Stupid Life,” which is also the title track of her debut album.

“Something about the road can open up a person,” she said on a recent drive through Music City. “I wrote that right here in my Honda CR-V!”

The singer, who is 35 years old, has had the opportunity to perform alongside some of her musical idols, including Willie Nelson, Bob Weir, and the Highwomen. Last summer in London, at the BST Hyde Park Festival, she shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen and The Chicks. She expressed her enjoyment of performing with The Chicks and how they were the reason she fell in love with country music. She has even recorded a cover of their song “Cowboy Take Me Away.”
