Chaka Khan, the vocalist who rose to fame as a member of the funk band Rufus, established her reputation with a series of incredibly successful songs such as “Tell Me Something Good,” “I’m Every Woman,” “I Feel for You,” and “Ain’t Nobody.” At the age of 70, this recent inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame discusses her bond with Prince, her previous battles with substance abuse, and the way her music is being embraced by younger audiences, in an interview with correspondent Kelefa Sanneh.
