Daniel Kaluuya, who won an Oscar, has made a significant step in his professional journey by directing his first movie, titled “The Kitchen.” This film delves into the intricacies of the Black British experience within a dystopian world. After working on it for a decade, Kaluuya described it as a passion project and admitted that directing was more challenging than he initially thought, humbling him in the process.
Kaluuya expressed surprise at the level of attention and constant decision-making required.

Kaluuya, who also contributed to the screenplay, tells the story of a group in futuristic London fighting to defend their residence, referred to as “The Kitchen,” against a tyrannical government. He revealed that his biggest challenge in writing was believing in himself.
