Any casual student of history knows how the story of Napoleon Bonaparte ends: Waterloo, 1815. After more than two decades of dominating European battlefields and European history, Napoleon was finally confronted by an enemy he couldn’t out-maneuver, out-gun or out-smart.

The person known as Napoleon, who was originally from Corsica and not well-known, was an artillery officer. He became ruler of France and conquered a large part of Europe through being ruthless and clever. He died in defeat, in a state of exile and without anyone by his side. Today, his body rests in a lavish tomb in Paris, serving as a reminder of the emperor who brought both fame and ruin to his homeland.

However, his story is not over yet, as both history and Hollywood continue to be captivated by him.
