Ms. Margaret Brennan interviews Mr. Christos Christou, the president of Doctors Without Borders International, who is currently in Rome. It has been reported that several doctors from your organization are stationed at Al Shifa Hospital, where two newborns have tragically passed away due to a lack of electricity and the inability to maintain incubators. There are also 40 premature babies in need of evacuation. Will the Israeli military provide assistance in evacuating these children?
Dr. Christos Christou, President of Doctors Without Borders International, reports that there is currently no information about any coordinated efforts to evacuate the neonate patients. Additionally, there is no update on a proper evacuation plan. Many patients have recently undergone surgery and are unable to simply walk out of the hospital. There are also premature newborn babies who require support and should be in incubators, but the hospital’s incubators are not functional at this time.
