The Israeli military announced on Friday that three individuals who were being held captive by Hamas in Gaza were accidentally killed due to friendly fire.

The IDF launched 155mm artillery shells during military operations in Shejaiya, a densely populated neighborhood in Gaza City with a population of 90,000 people.
According to the Israeli military, during the incident, troops mistakenly perceived three Israeli hostages as a threat and subsequently fired at them, resulting in their death, as reported by the Israel Defense Forces.
The Israeli military has announced that the remains have been repatriated to Israel and the identities of the three individuals have been verified.
During the 20th century, the Kibbutz Kfar Aza was active.
The IDF confirmed that two of the victims killed during the hostage situation in Israel were identified. The name of the third victim, Alon Shamriz, was released by the IDF with his family’s consent. This was after initially stating that the family did not want his name to be made public. According to officials, Shamriz was also taken hostage from Kibbutz Kfar Aza.
The Israeli military started examining the incident promptly.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement: “Together with the entire people of Israel, I bow my head in deep sorrow and mourn the death of three of our hostages. … This is an unbearable tragedy and all of Israel is grieving their loss this evening.”

Earlier on Friday, the Israeli Defense Forces announced that the individual who had returned to Israel and was confirmed to be the same person was positively identified. According to French authorities, the person in question, Toledano, held French citizenship and was said to have been present at the 2019 Paris Air Show.had struck a rocket manufacturing site in Gaza
On October 7th, Hamas launched an attack on southern Israel. The Israeli military announced that it had targeted a rocket production facility in Gaza on Tuesday.
