According to a post on social media by Melania Trump, Amalija Knavs, the mother of the ex-first lady, has passed away at the age of 78.
“I am saddened to share the news that my dear mother, Amalija, has passed away. Amalija Knavs was a resilient and dignified woman who exuded grace and warmth. This message was shared by Melania Trump on her X profile, formerly known as Twitter.
“She was completely dedicated to her husband, daughters, grandson, and son-in-law. We will deeply miss her and carry on honoring and cherishing her impact,” she expressed.
According to a recent report from People, Amalija Knavs and Viktor obtained their U.S. citizenship in 2018 while their son-in-law was serving as president. They have been residing at Mar-a-Lago for the past few years.
Donald Trump shared on his Truth Social platform that it was a mournful evening for his family as Melania’s mother, Amalija, has passed away. He described her as a remarkable woman and expressed that she will be deeply missed.
