Stephen Colbert has experienced a ruptured appendix, leading to the cancellation of episodes of “Late Show” while he recovers.

Stephen Colbert, the host of the late night show, is currently recuperating from an operation to repair a ruptured appendix. In light of this, the upcoming episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on CBS has been postponed.

“I’m confident you may have thought, ‘Did Steve have too much turkey? Did his gravy boat tip over?’ In reality, I am recuperating from surgery to repair a burst appendix,” Colbert shared on social media. “I am appreciative of my doctors for their treatment and thankful to my wife Evie and children for tolerating me. From now on, any correspondence for my appendix should be directed to my pancreas.”

A burst appendix, also referred to as a ruptured appendix, causes infection to spread in the abdomen, known as peritonitis. This can be a dangerous condition and requires urgent surgical intervention to remove the appendix and cleanse the abdominal area.
